RESISTANCE TO OXIDATION and CORROSION Alloy 15-5 is a Precipitation Hardening alloy that shows high strength and a moderate corrosion resistance. Unfortunately because this alloy is a Precipitation Hardening Alloy it is more susceptible to stress corrosion such as cracking at peak strength, Also it is susceptible to surface oxidation during Precipitation Hardening.
