SPECIFICATIONS Type 301A Stainless Steel is covered by the following specifications: AMS 5901 Sheet, Strip and Plate : MIL-S-5059 Similar Specifications UNS : S30100 ASTM A240 and A666
RESISTANCE TO OXIDATION and CORROSION Type 301A has a good resistance to oxidation up to 840°C (1550°F). Type 301A is resistant to a wide range of corrosions although during welding it can suffer from carbide precipitation which reduces the stainless steel's resistance to corrosion depending on the amount of carbon present.
