RESISTANCE TO CORROSION Alloy 718 contains nickel, chromium, iron, niobium, molybdenum, aluminium and titanium as main elements. This alloy has corrosion resistance and high strength while also being easily weldable with resistance  to cracking after being welded. It is used in nuclear reactors and rocket motors for its excellent creep rupture strength at temperatures up to 700˚C (1300˚F).
